AMY LINTUNEN
Amy Lintunen, a Toronto-based artist and educator, intricately weaves dance, rhythm, and spoken word to tell captivating stories. Hailing from Thunder Bay, she co-owned a dance studio before refining her craft at Off Jazz in France and later in the esteemed Teacher Training program at the American Tap Dance Foundation, mentored by Barbara Duffy and Brenda Bufalino. Amy's stage journey in Toronto began with What's On? Tap! and Ismailova Theatre of Dance.
In 2013, Amy and her dance partner, Trina Josdal, founded Vintage Taps, a dynamic ensemble reviving the charm of the Vaudeville Era. Their sold-out production, "The Laundry List," earned accolades, including the esteemed "The Spirit of Fringe" award at the 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival. In 2023, Vintage Taps presented the iconic Jane Goldberg in "Weekend With A Tap Goddess."
As artistic director of Sisu Dance Projects, Amy focuses on original choreography, poetry and storytelling.
While tap dance has her heart, she embraces all movement. As a certified fitness instructor, Amy shares her passion to empower others on their fitness journeys. She believes movement and rhythm have the power to amplify the human experience.
